Manchester City boss Mark Hughes is ready to make a move for Chelsea defender Alex, according to the People.
Hughes will make a £15million bid for the Brazilian defender, who is unsettled at Stamford Bridge.
Reports say Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari is ready to sell Alex in order to get money to strengthen his team this month.
Hughes is ready to sell skipper Richard Dunne and wants to bring in Alex as a replacement.
City has previously in the January transfer window signed Wayne Bridge from Chelsea.
Reports in the People also suggest that Celtic are in talks with Manchester City over a move for Welsh striker Ched Evans, that could see the youngster move to Parkhead.
