Sky Sports has learned that Manchester City are set to complete the deal for England international defender Ryan Bertrand.
The Citizens have so far secured the signing of Bernardo Silva from Monaco and they look to add two more high-profile footballers to their ranks.
While Man City are in advanced talks to recruit Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker, they are also closing in on Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand.
The Citizens initially planned to sign Monaco full-back Benjamin Mendy, but then turned their attention to the former Chelsea starlet due to Monaco’s £40 million asking price.
Bar any major surprises, Betrand will see his £55,000 per week salary more than doubled at Etihad Stadium, while getting a chance to finally challenge for major trophies.
With the heavy recruitment planned for the summer, it is not that surprising that Man City have been made 15/8 favourites to lift the Premier League trophy next term.
