Man City showing interest in Javi Martinez

Premier League giants Manchester City are showing interest in Bayern Munich midfielder Javi Martinez, BT Sports has suggested.

The Citizens boss Pep Guardiola is a big fan of his former player and the Spaniard was keen on luring his compatriot to Etihad Stadium in a bid to reinforce his back line.

However, Bild claims that Bayern Munich have no intention of selling their star player any time soon.

Martinez extended his deal until June 2021 back in December and he is likely to remain at Allianz Arena for the foreseeable future.

Equally adept at playing as a centre-back or holding midfielder, Javi Martinez has so far made 87 Bundesliga appearances for the club.
