According to a recent report from Tuttosport, Manchester City are still very much in the running to sign Manuel Locatelli from Sassuolo.
Juventus were believed to have jumped to the front of the queue within the last few days, but as it turns out, City aren’t about to back down from this fight with Pep Guardiola having his eyes set on the 23-year-old.
It’s taken some time for Locatelli to truly emerge as one of the next big things in world football but now that we’re here, it feels like his reputation is growing with each and every passing week.
The key for City and Juve is that they’re both starting to show cautiously optimistic signs of investing in their youth system. If they can keep that trend going in the months and even years to come, it could wind up being very profitable for two teams on the verge of European domination.
