Man City still want Firpo

According to AS, Manchester City are interested in signing Real Betis defender Junior Firpo. This is a move that has been rumoured for quite some time now and it appears as if the Premier League champions are still invested in the idea of making the transfer happen, as they continue to try and bolster their already fantastic ranks ahead of the January transfer window.

The 22 year old Firpo has certainly been turning heads with the Spanish side throughout the season thus far, and even managed to get a goal in the victory over Barcelona last weekend. Alas, if City are serious about luring him over to English football, they’ll have to stump up at least £43.5 million which is his release clause. While money is hardly any kind of obstacle for them, it’ll be interesting to see whether or not they agree to those terms or whether they try and lower his price tag.
