According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky in Germany, Manchester United are monitoring the situation around Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat. The 20-time English champions have already held the initial talks about a potential transfer, but those talks are yet to yield results or reach an advanced stage at this point.
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old midfielder, one of the heroes of Morocco’s impressive 2022 World Cup campaign, is also on the wish list of Bayern Munich, who are yet to take concrete steps towards securing his services. The first report linking the Bavarians with Amrabat appeared some time ago, when they were said to be considering him as an alternative to Arsenal-bound Declan Rice.
Before that, the Morocco international was also linked with Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
Amrabat has entered the last year of his contract with Fiorentina, though with an option for a 12-month extension, and he’s widely expected to move on soon.
ManUtd is monitoring Sofyan #Amrabat very closely.
At this stage, it’s not advanced but first
talks took place. #MUFC➡️ Understand, that it could become a hot topic later in this window.
He’s also on the list of FC Bayern. But nothing concrete at this stage. @SkySportDE… pic.twitter.com/oYayIB5DHq
