According to a recent report from Record, Atletico Madrid and Manchester United are said to be leading the charge to try and sign Joao Felix from Benfica. It’s no secret that the 19 year old is a wanted man, after a breakout season that included a series of great performances in Europe. He helped the club to reclaim the Primeira Liga title from the grasp of Porto, which wasn’t a foregone conclusion by any means. Manchester United are said to have begun negotiations with the Portuguese club and are more than willing to meet the proposed release clause of £105 million, however, Atletico are still very much in the running. They consider him to be a potential replacement for Antoine Griezmann, who has already confirmed that he’s going to be leaving the Spaniards this summer.
Either way, it seems like we have a big summer ahead of ourselves where this young man is concerned.
