(GSM) – Manchester United have dismissed rumours that linked Patrice Evra with a move away from Old Trafford.

The Daily Mail says United have played down speculation linking the French left-back with a transfer to Barcelona or Juventus.

The France captain endured a disastrous World Cup campaign: the former Monaco player was at the centre of a player revolt in South Africa.

However, his clubs says the decision to give him an extra week off this summer was already taken in May due to Evra’s marathon 60-game season and for no other reason.
