Premier League giants Manchester United are in the midst of a midfield crisis and the latest potential candidate to cast away all their problems is Real Madrid’s Casemiro, according to the Mirror.
With Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini both sidelined through injury, and long-time servant Michael Carrick set to retire at the end of the season, it is little surprise that Jose Mourinho is in the market to bolster Manchester United’s midfield. The Red Devils have been linked with a whole host of players but defensive midfielder Casemiro could be the perfect player to make the switch to Manchester.
The Brazilian is in the middle of contract negotiations with Real Madrid as Los Blancos are keen to keep him around past 2021, when his current deal expires. However French giants PSG have already reportedly put in a bid for Casemiro and United are likely to be following suit in the coming weeks.
The 25-year old has won three Champions Leagues and a La Liga title during his time in Madrid and it remains to be seen if Casemiro desires a new challenge in the next few years.
