Manchester United are considering a move for Kingsley Coman of Bayern Munich, should their pursuit of Jadon Sancho of Borussa Dortmund fail, according to The Athletic. Initial discussions about a potential move for the French winger have already been held.
Sancho remains United’s primary target when it comes to signing a wide forward, but everything seems to point to a huge gap in what they would be willing to pay and what Dortmund would expect to get. The Covid-19 pandemic has hit United financially as much as any other club. Apart from that, it is believed that the 20-year-old’s move to Old Trafford would also depend on whether they qualify for the Champions League next season, which they can do by avoiding defeat away to Leicester City today (Sunday), or by winning the Europa League.
United remain intent on adding the two or three players manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believe they lack to be able to challenge for the Premier League title again, and if Sancho proves unobtainable, Coman is seen as a good alternative.
The 24-year-old has made a total of 35 appearances for Bayern this season, with seven goals and seven assists to his name, but the arrival of Leroy Sane from Manchester City could push him down the pecking order.
