Man United excited by Varane

According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Manchester United are excited about the prospect of signing Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.

It’s already been well established that Varane is one of the most successful defenders of his generation, and that’s before he’s even really been able to hit his prime.

United have been pretty hot and cold when it comes to landing consistent defenders but for the most part, they seem to have struggled ever since the days of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.

Varane would open up some real doors for them not only in terms of his marketability but in terms of what he could produce on the pitch.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows that the upcoming summer transfer window is going to be a big one for the club, and signing Varane would serve as a huge statement of their intent heading into what they hope will be a campaign full of silverware.
