Manchester United are ‘hell-bent’ on signing Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli in the summer, according to the Mirror.
The 28-year-old has already been linked with a move to Old Trafford in the past, but the arrival of Harry Maguire from Leicester City last summer as the world’s most expensive defender seemed to have put a stop to those stories for a while. However, it now appears that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the club’s hierarchy still aren’t very impressed with the look of their back line, and they are now keen on putting the two players alongside each other in a partnership at the heart of defence. To that end, the Senegal international will be the absolute priority for them in the next transfer window.
Koulibaly is aware of United’s interest and is very open to the idea of playing in the Premier League, but the 20-time English champions face competition from Chelsea in that aspect, as well as from Real Madrid who would like to take him to the Spanish capital instead.
