Heavily reinforced Premier League giants Manchester United are already contemplating adding fresh blood to their ranks in January and have identified Porto midfielder Hector Herrera as one of their top transfer targets, according to reports from the Portuguese media.
The 26-year-old Porto midfielder was previously linked with the likes of Napoli and Liverpool, but his valuation of €40 million was enough to put off all suitors during the summer transfer window.
Portugal media outlet Abola have learned that Manchester United are willing to step in the chase for the highly-rated midfielder who Jose Mourinho believes could be the perfect complement to United’s world-record signing Paul Pogba in the centre of the park.
A player of great positional understanding and technical knowledge, Hector Herrera is thought to be just the solution Man United need in order to help Paul Pogba achieve his full potential and repeat stellar performances he regularly displayed for Juventus.
Mexico international played 29 games for Porto last season, while he has made 5 appearances this term, adding one goal in the process.
