According to Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are looking to bolster their attacking midfield options this summer, and to that end, they’re monitoring the respective situations of Kenan Yildiz at Juventus and Xavi Simons at RB Leipzig.
Yildiz would apparently be the preferred choice, but the 19-year-old Turkey international is a fan favourite at Juventus and very happy in Turin, and as things stand at the moment, he has no desire to change clubs this year. Whether United can do anything to persuade him to change his mind, remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, Simons has been tipped to move a top club for a while now. United could be forced to switch from Yildiz to the 21-year-old Netherlands international, but on that front they would reportedly face strong competition, with their arch-rivals Liverpool believed to be holding an interest as well. The likes of Manchester City and Barcelona have been mentioned as well.
