Manchester United are apparently keen to part ways permanently with Alexis Sanchez this summer. As reported by Manchester Evening News, they are already sounding out potential buyers for the Chilean misfit.
The 31-year-old forward, who used to play for Udinese, Barcelona and Arsenal before joining United in a swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan in January 2018, is currently on a season-long loan at Inter Milan. United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said recently that Alexis was expected to return to Manchester and report for pre-season when the loan expires, but it seems the Norwegian was only trying to keep his market value up and the market is already being scoured with the aim of sniffing out a club that would be interested in taking him permanently off their hands.
United didn’t give Inter an option to buy at the end of the season, hoping that Sanchez’s form would attract other suitors and possibly drive the price up, but it hasn’t worked out too well as he missed three months with an ankle injury. His contract with United doesn’t expire before the summer of 2022.
