Premier League high-flying side Manchester United have sent scouts to Italy last week and, despite the popular opinion that Jose Mourinho is monitoring Radja Nainggolan, the Portuguese tactician is keeping track of his teammate Lorenzo Pellegrini.
The 21-year-old only joined AS Roma from Sassuolo this summer but is already attracting plenty of interest across the continent.
Italy midfielder impressed in his first start for Giallorossi against Verona, putting in a commanding display at the centre of the pitch. Pellegrini was of great impact in Roma’s 3-0 victory and his performance came as a great testament to his qualities and talents.
Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport claims Manchester United have been impressed by Pellegrini’s talents as Mourinho’s emissaries returned to England with their notebooks filled with positive remarks about the 21-year-old who could be United’s main target next summer.
AS Roma are not willing to negotiate any potential deal, however, as they regard Pellegrini as a natural successor of club’s ageing icon Daniele De Rossi.
