British news outlet The Sun has spread the word on a sensational rumour linking Arsenal star performer Mesut Ozil with a sensational swoop to Manchester United.
The 28-year-old Germany international has another 18 months in his deal with the Gunners, but appears to be stalling on signing the new deal that would see a substantial rise to his wages predicted to go from current £140,000 a week to whopping £200,000.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho however appears to be keen to scrap Ozil’s deal with the Gunners and reunite with the player he managed back at Real Madrid.
The Portuguese manager was the one who persuaded Ozil to choose Real Madrid in front of Arsenal back in 2010 and is hoping that good relationship with the playmaker could be a decisive factor in luring him to Old Trafford.
Mesut Ozil has been in superb form this season scoring seven goals in 14 appearances across all competitions for the North London outfit.
