Manchester United have signed Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire this summer, but next January they might add another important piece to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad. So far this is still just a rumour, but there could be signs that Man United are planning to sign Christian Eriksen in the next transfer window.
The Tottenham Hotspur playmaker is in the final year of his contract and he could leave Spurs on 30 June 2020 as a free agent. This means that if he does not sign a new contract before the start of 2020, he will be free to negotiate a new contract with any non-English club, Real Madrid included. But Man United might be tempted to make an offer to Daniel Levy in January in order for Spurs to at least earn some money on Eriksen’s departure and United to get themselves into the best possible situation.
The Devils would definitely need Eriksen’s qualities, but if the Danish playmaker signs a new deal with Spurs, then all of this will be unimportant.
