There is more good news for Manchester United, with the club confirming record profits for the last financial year.
The Old Trafford side announced record operating profits of 110.9 million pounds for the 2010-11 financial year on Thursday.
The club’s total revenue rose above 300 million pounds for the first time – to 330 million to the end of June 2011 – an increase of 45 million pounds on the previous year.
In the same period, they won the Premier League and reached the Champions League final. With three wins out of three to begin the season, United sit atop the standings in the English top flight.
United have also enjoyed an increase in matchday turnover to 108.6 million pounds, despite struggling to sell corporate boxes.
The figures contrast sharply with the previous 12 months, when the club posted a record 83.3 million-pound loss.
United’s owners, the Glazer family, are considering floating the club on the Singapore Stock Exchange to address debts of almost 310 million pounds.
