According to a recent report from Kicker, both Manchester United and Real Madrid have reignited their interest in signing Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich. The Polish forward is widely considered to be one of the best players of his generation, and has proven that domestically over the course of the last few years. He has scored 38 goals in 45 appearances this season already, but is currently under contract at Bayern until 2021. The club are interested in extending that for another year until 2022, but Lewandowski wants a longer extension than that in order to really secure his future. Both United and Real have been linked to Lewandowski in the past but nothing came to fruition, although now, there could be room for them to convince him that a move away would be best for his career.
Even if they don’t get the job done this summer, there’s always the possibility of luring him away closer to the date of his contract expiring.
