According to a recent report from ESPN, Manchester United and Real Madrid are monitoring the progress of Villarreal defender Pau Torres.
The 24-year-old is widely considered to be one of the most underrated defenders in world football today but now, he’s going to be receiving a whole lot more attention as we get closer and closer to the summer transfer window.
Outside of a brief loan spell with Malaga, Torres has spent the entirety of his career with Villarreal where he has made a real name for himself. The step up in going to United or Madrid would be absolutely massive, as we all know, but our instinct tells us he’d rather give another league a try.
Whether or not that would be best for him given how familiar he is with La Liga remains to be seen, but what we do know is that it’s the kind of decision that could make or break someone’s career.
