Man United reject Coutinho/Cavani swap

According to a recent report from Sport, Manchester United have rejected a swap proposal that came in recently from Barcelona.

The belief is that the Spaniards offered Philippe Coutinho to Manchester United in exchange for Edinson Cavani. While the future of Cavani at Old Trafford is not yet known, the Red Devils still weren’t willing to entertain a swap deal – something which has become a rarity in modern transfers at the highest level.

Cavani may not be viewed as highly as he once was due to a lack of game time at United, but his ability to stick the ball in the back of the net is still undeniable. On the flip side, Coutinho is desperate for a chance to prove that he’s still a player of real value, as he did when he was in the Premier League with Liverpool.

Moving forward, we can expect a whole lot more to develop with regards to both attackers as the January transfer window fast approaches.
