Manchester United are desperately looking to bolster their backline during the winter transfer market and thus further improve their chances of landing a top-four finish at the end of the 2018/19 campaign.
The Red Devils have been linked with several names over the past couple of weeks – such as Porto defender Eder Militao – but the latest reports coming from Italy have it that Manchester United are contemplating a move for AS Roma hotshot Kostas Manolas.
Manchester United have apparently already informed AS Roma officials of their interest in Greek international and are preparing a January bid in an attempt to land the defender.
The 27-year-old Kostas Manolas has made 21 appearances for Giallorossi this season and is said to be on a £34 million release clause with the Italian side.
Manolas is one of the highest rated defenders in Europe and would be a massive boost for Manchester United’s fragile backline.
