According to numerous reports over the past few months, Manchester United have identified Leicester City’s James Maddison as one of their primary transfer targets. The Foxes have been adamant that no player with a role to play will be leaving the King Power Stadium in January, and at United they are aware it would be difficult to persuade them to sell, so, according to Mirror, they’ve come up with another plan to try and get them to reconsider their stance.
Apparently, they are willing to do a swap deal and are set to offer the services of Jesse Lingard along with £45 million for Maddison.
Lingard’s performances this season can only be described as underwhelming, and it is believed that the 27-year-old has blown his last chance with the 20-time English champions. On the other hand, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that 23-year-old Maddison has what it takes to become a United star in the near future.
