According to Sky Italia, Manchester United are weighing up the possibility of approaching Fiorentina over the possible signing of Nikola Milenkovic. The 21 year old has been a revelation at the back for the Italian side throughout the course of the Serie A season thus far, and unsurprisingly, he’s been turning quite a few heads in the process. Jose Mourinho is a particular admirer of Milenkovic’s work, and is generally working to improve United’s back line which is easily the weakest part of their squad right now.
Fiorentina’s chairman claimed that they turned down a £36 million offer for Milenkovic during the summer so it’s clear to see that it wouldn’t be a walk in the park to get him to sign on the dotted line, but given his confidence and ability for such a young player, it’d seem as if this could be the most important transfer of Mourinho’s entire tenure at Old Trafford if he can get it done.
