According to a recent report from Sky Sports News, Manchester United will not be completing the signing of Mario Mandzukic during the summer transfer window. The Red Devils are believed to have held discussions with the 33 year old over the possibility of getting a deal over the finish line, but now, they have come to the decision that they don’t want to pursue the deal any further than they already have done.
The belief is that United wanted to sign the Croatian forward as a replacement for the outgoing Romelu Lukaku, who is on the verge of completing his switch to Italian side Inter Milan.
At this stage, though, it seems like they were just being a bit desperate, which isn’t the right kind of image you want to portray when the start of the new Premier League season is so close now.
Either way, United have come up short once again.
