Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport claims that Manchester United are ready to challenge Juventus for the signature of Valencia playmaker Andre Gomes.
The Bianconeri have been hot on the trail of the Portuguese midfielder for quite some time and they are reportedly prepared to offer €50 million for his services.
As a result, Juventus officials expected to quickly wrap up the deal, but the latest reports suggest they could face stiff competition from Manchester United.
Namely, Andre Gomes shares the same agent with new Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho, meaning that Jorge Mendes could try and bring the 22-year-old to Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Juventus have all but agreed to sign Brazilian full-back Dani Alves from Barcelona, but there appears to be no truth in speculation linking him with a move for his teammate Javier Mascherano.
Both players will take part at the 2016 Copa America Centenario, where Argentina have been made 15/8 favourites to go all the way.
