Portuguese media outlet Record claims that Manchester United are negotiating a new deal for Benfica defender Victor Nilsson Lindelof.
The two clubs were in advanced talks during the winter window, but the transfer eventually failed to materialise.
However, it would appear as though the deal is back on as Benfica chairman Luis Filipe Vieira and agent Jorge Mendes are currently in Manchester, hoping to agree a transfer fee with the Premier League side.
Manchester United’s defensive problems are well documented and manager Jose Mourinho seems to believe that Lindelof can be a good option for the back line.
Despite also having Chris Smalling and Phil Jones at his disposal, the Portuguese tactician is likely to pair the Sweden international with Eric Bailly at Old Trafford.
After squeezing into the Europa League semi-finals, Manchester United have been made 1/1 favourites to go all the way.
