Premier League high-flyers are weighing up January bid for Bayer Leverkusen star Hakan Calhanoglu, Sport Bild has suggested.
The Red Devils are not exactly spoilt for options in the middle of the park and they believe that the Turkey international would be a very good addition to the squad.
Manchester United scouts have been watching Calhanoglu regularly this season, but it is important to note that Juventus are keen as well.
And while Bayer Leverkusen are in the process of drafting a new contract offer for their prized possession, chief Michael Schade has moved to confirm that a big money proposal would be taken into consideration.
“We want to keep Hakan, but with us there is a pain threshold,” Schade confessed to Sport Bild.
The German media outlet has learned that an offer in the region of €40 million might persuade die Werkself to sell their star player.
Hakan Calhanoglu has been in fine form since joining from Hamburg just over a year ago, having managed 18 goals and 15 assists in 63 appearances.
