Premier League giants Manchester United are stepping up their efforts to sign Sporting CP winger Gelson Martins, according to A Bola.
The Red Devils are among clubs that have expressed interest in the Lions starlet, with Real Madrid and Manchester City also keen on his services.
Manchester United scouts have watched the youngster in action several times this season and they were again present as Sporting CP shared spoils with Vitoria Guimaraes.
Martins played full ninety minutes as the Lions recorded a 3-3 draw, but was unable to get on the scoresheet.
The 21-year-old has so far scored 2 goals in 7 Primeira Liga fixtures this season, and was especially impressive in the Champions League defeat to Real Madrid.
Considering that he is now one of the lowest paid footballers in the squad, Sporting CP officials are preparing a new deal for their prized asset that will reportedly be worth €700,000 per campaign.
