Spanish media outlet Don Balon claims that Manchester United are hot on the trail of Barcelona centre-back Samuel Umtiti.
The 24-year-old only joined the Catalans from Lyon some 18 months ago and he did well to nail down a regular starting berth.
However, recent reports suggest that Umtiti does not believe that his current salary reflects his status in the squad and he is requesting a pay rise.
If Barcelona officials refuse to offer him a new and improved deal, the Frenchman will consider his options at the end of the season.
According to Don Balon, Manchester United are ready to act and match the player’s €60 million release clause.
Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the former Lyon starlet and he will attempt to lure him to Old Trafford in the summer.
