Italian daily newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport has suggested that Manchester United are stepping up their efforts to sign Croatian forward Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan.
The Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho plans to further reinforce the squad in the summer and the Croatia star has emerged as one of his primary targets.
With Premier League leaders Chelsea also keen on the 28-year-old, Manchester United plan to submit a €60 million proposal for Perisic in the coming days.
And while Inter Milan would prefer to keep hold of their star player, they do need the cash from his sale to avoid Financial Fair Play sanctions, meaning they will seriously consider any bid arriving from Old Trafford.
Ivan Perisic joined the Nerazzurri from Wolfsburg two years ago and went on to produce 18 goals and 13 assists in 71 competitive outings, while he netted once for Croatia in four 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
