Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Manchester United are preparing a substantial offer for Napoli hotshot Gonzalo Higuain.
In spite of the recent improvement shown by the team, Jose Mourinho is expected to take over the reigns at Old Trafford in the summer and he has already drawn up a list of potential reinforcements.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Portuguese manager wants to be reunited with Napoli star Gonzalo Higuain and is ready to pay top dollar for his services.
The same source has suggested that Manchester United plan to offer €80 million for the Argentine striker, which is not that far away from his €94.5 million release clause.
While Gonzalo Higuain did not exactly impress at Real Madrid, he has kick-started his career at Stadio San Paolo, bagging 60 goals in 96 Serie A appearances.
After suffering the third successive slip-up, Napoli are 2/1 chance to pip Juventus to the league title.
