Manchester United have submitted an improved offer for Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Henrick Mkhitaryan after having their initial approach rejected, Mirror has reported.
Bundesliga giants are keen to hold on to Armenia international who scored 11 and assisted 15 goals for Dortmund in what has been an unbelievable season for the player, but Manchester United are believed to be Mkhitaryan’s desired destination.
Jose Mourinho has identified the 27-year-old Armenia star as a perfect addition to his Manchester United squad and Red Devils have returned with their second bid coming close to Dortmund’s valuation of the player in order to close the deal which will most likely signal the end of Juan Mata’s career at Old Trafford.
Germans are asking for £31 million, while United are reportedly ready to pay £28 million plus add-ons to land the highly-rated midfielder.
Mkhitaryan has spent last three years at Borussia Dortmund, having been signed in 2012-13 season from Shakhtar Donetsk.
