Man Utd target Arturo Vidal happy at Juventus

Vidal

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has revealed he is happy in Turin, while adding that moving to Manchester United was never on the cards in the summer.

The Chile international, 27, was heavily linked with United during the summer transfer window, but no deal materialised amid lingering concerns over the player’s ongoing knee problems.

Despite intense speculation, Vidal–who represented his country at the World Cup finals in Brazil–remained calm, and claims his agent never ‘called’ regarding a ‘concrete’ offer from United.

“I was calm,” Vidal told Tuttosport. “I just thought about my knee.

“Never once I asked my agent or to Juventus if something was going on.

“I have a pact with my agent, if there is something concrete it’s up to him to let me know. And he never called.

“I don’t know exactly what happened during the summer months, but I think nothing really important.”

Vidal added: “If I would accept a proposal of Manchester United? I don’t know. I really don’t know.

“I can only say that I’m really well in Turin. I’m happy here and my family is happy; for me this is more important than money or any other thing.

“In Juventus I’m happy, this is my home and it is always difficult to leave home.”

Vidal has scored two goals in 4 Italian Serie A appearances for the Bianconeri this season.

Hamsik content in Napoli

The agent of S.S.C. Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik, Juraj Venglos, has played down speculation linking his client with a move away from the Stadio San Paolo.

The Slovakia international, 27, has been linked with several top European clubs, including Liverpool, in recent weeks.

Fresh reports have suggested the Reds are contemplating a January swoop for Hamsik, but his agent has moved to dismiss such speculation.

“Marek could be sold whenever he wants, but while he feels good at Napoli we don’t need to take into consideration any other options,” Venglos told Sky Sport Italia.

“Should he decide he wants to move, things will change. But at the moment Marek feels good at Napoli.”

Since arriving in Napoli from Brescia for €5.5 million in 2007, Hamsik has established himself as one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe.

He is without a shadow of a doubt one of Aurelio De Laurentiis’ best-ever signings, with 76 goals to his name in over 300 appearances in all competitions.

Knowing De Laurentiis, Hamsik will not be allowed to leave on the cheap. Expect a fee in excess of €40 million.
