Manchester United are hot on the trail of AS Roma hotshot Kostas Manolas, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
Soon-to-be Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the Greek defender and he has already attempted to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
According to reports from Italy, the Portuguese manager has now set his sights on luring Manolas to Old Trafford.
It is no secret that Man Utd have serious problems at the back and that is the first issue Mourinho will be looking to address when he takes over the reigns.
The Red Devils reportedly plan to offer around €40 million, which is close to Roma’s valuation of the player, but the problem is that Manolas’ former club Olympiakos will earn 50% of the transfer fee if the defender leaves before 1st September 2016.
Nevertheless, the Giallorossi could avoid paying half of the transfer fee to the Greek giants by loaning the player out with an obligatory buy-out option.
