The Mirror is reporting that Manchester United are readying summer bid for Shakhtar Donetsk star Fred.
The central midfielder is widely tipped to join a top European club in the summer and Manchester City were believed to be leading the chase.
However, latest reports suggest that Manchester United are also hot on his trail as they look to reinforce the midfield department.
It is believed that due to heavy interest in his services, Fred will cost in excess of €50 million, and Manchester could easily be his next destination.
The 25-year-old has so far scored 10 goals in 97 league outings for Shakhtar, while also amassing 39 appearances in European competitions.
