Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley has shone during his time on loan with Aston Villa, but returns to his parent club to decide his future with the club for the new season. The England international is out of contract with United this summer, and has plenty of interest in his services given his impressive performances for Villa under new manager Tim Sherwood.

Everton are one side who remain keen on Cleverley, as manager Roberto Martinez worked with the United academy starlet during his time with Wigan Athletic. The 25-year-old being out of contract at the end of the season means he’s free to talk with other clubs, and his time with Manchester United looks all but finished.

His departure from Old Trafford will hurt after having spent so many years there as a youth and senior player, but Cleverley has channelled his emotions perfectly on the football pitch. He could have done little more to prove his worth to United manager Louis van Gaal, and he confessed an interest to sign a permanent deal with Villa with how well his loan spell has gone in the Midlands.
