Manchester United continued their great run on Thursday evening by beating Aston Villa away 0-3.
However, the decision of referee Jonathan Moss and VAR to award United the penalty which opened the scoring has caused quite an uproar. Villa defender Ezri Konsa challenged United’s Bruno Fernandes for the ball just inside the box, and the contact between the two players came when Fernandes landed on Konsa’s ankle after jumping to avoid the tackle. Penalty or not?
The Premier League afterwards admitted that the decision to award the penalty was wrong.
Take a look at the incident itself first.
Wanted to ask @ManUtd fans, how does your team get away with this every time? If anything it should be Aston Villa who get the free kick & for me Bruno Fernandes should of been sent off for dangerous play. pic.twitter.com/1X13ri5HZo
