Competition: Premier League

Market: Manchester City to beat Newcastle

Odds: 1/10 @ Bet365

The Premier League continues this weekend with even more exceptionally exciting fixtures for the football fans to sink their teeth into. With the league now well past the halfway stage, every team will want to embark upon a positive run of results to forge their way up the table. With this in mind, Manchester City host Newcastle on Saturday.

Manchester City have been superb this season and they are looking almost unstoppable at the top. After 23 games they have won 20 times, drawn twice and lost once, scoring 67 goals and conceding 17 times. In their last five they have won three, drawn once and lost once, which has seen them onto 62 points for the season so far, 12 clear of second-placed Manchester United. City’s last game ended in their first league defeat this season and they will be looking to bounce back immediately with a thumping win over Newcastle.

Newcastle, by contrast, have been struggling this season and they are in need of a number of wins. After 23 games they have won six, drawn five and lost 12, while they have scored 21 goals and conceded 31 times. In their last five they have managed to win two, drawn two and lose one, which has seen them onto 23 points for the season so far, three clear of the relegation zone. The Magpies will likely face a backlash after City lost their first game of the league season last weekend, meaning that they will have to be on top form defensively, or they will face a real hammering.
