Manchester City 1/6 to beat Stoke City in Saturday’s Premier League clash

Competition: Premier League

Market: Manchester City to beat Soke

Odds: 1/6 @ Bet365

Manchester City host Stoke City this weekend as the Premier League returns from a two-week break due to the international fixtures. Pep Guardiola’s men will be chomping at the bit to continue their Premier League title push following an outstanding start to the season.

City have won six of their seven games this campaign, drawing the other. What is equally impressive is the fact they have scored 22 goals and conceded just twice so far, which is a massive improvement defensively from last campaign. With Manchester United behind them by virtue of scoring one less goal, City will be desperate to stay ahead of their inter-city rivals.

Stoke City, on the other hand, have encountered a number of difficulties this campaign with Mark Hughes’ side struggling to kick on this season. Of their last five games, Stoke have won once, lost twice and drawn twice. While optimism may not be brimming for the visitors this weekend, they will cite that two draws were followed by two defeats, so if that pattern continues then they will win their game against City to make it two wins.

However, it’s an omen that probably won’t inspire massive confidence from the fans, although they did claim a superb point against Manchester United earlier in the season, meaning they will quietly hope they can do a similar job on the blue half of Manchester.

While Stoke are no pushovers, it will surely be another win for City who have looked to be in inspiring form this season. With a host of goals scored already and very few conceded, Bet365 are giving odds 1/6.
