Aston Villa travel to the Etihad Stadium this afternoon to face Premier League holders Manchester City. Tim Sherwood’s in-form side will be full of confidence, after having beating Liverpool at Wembley in the FA Cup, and Tottenham at White Hart Lane prior to their Merseyside triumph, but come up against a Man City side back in form too.

The Sky Blues put in a good display against West Ham from last weekend, and are looking to build on the win to keep themselves in slim contention of finishing in the top-two. City’s form has been inconsistent in recent weeks, but they have been performing on home soil.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have won their last four home games in the Premier League, which gives Aston Villa a tricky task to get a result. The Midlands club are full of confidence, however, and they have beaten Manchester City before in the last couples of years.

New manager Tim Sherwood has turned around their fortunes, and he will set the side up to harm the Citizens. Nevertheless, Ladbrokes are backing the Premier League holders, with odds of 3/10 to come away with the win this afternoon.
