Manchester City are on the verge of signing Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window, according to 90min. The report has claimed that City, who won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League last season, have come to an agreement with Leipzig over a fee for Gvardiol.
City will reportedly pay Bundesliga club Leipzig an initial transfer fee of £77.5 million for the 21-year-old Croatia international defender. The youngster has already agreed personal terms with City and is keen on completing the move to the Etihad Stadium. The Citizens hope to get a deal done before the FA Community Shield match against Arsenal at Wembley Stadium in London this weekend.
Gvardiol is one of the best young defenders in the world and was superb for Croatia at the 2022 Qatar World Cup. The centre-back will hope to make an immediate impact at City and establish himself in the first team straightaway.
