Croatian media outlets report that the Premier League title holders Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign hajduk Split youngster Ante Palaversa.
Slobodna Dalmacija claims the 18-year-old midfield talent is about to put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Citizens.
The youngster will remain with the Croatian outfit Hajduk Split for at least another year before moving to Manchester City. Palaversa is seen as a long-term replacement for the Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho.
Manchester City are said to have agreed to pay a €4.5 million transfer fee with an additional 1.5 million to cover the expenses of the loan deal for the midfielder. Hajduk could pocket a further €1.5 million in appearance-related bonuses.
In addition to Palaversa, Manchester City are also looking into a possibility to sign the Schalke winger Rabbi Matondo who is valued at around €12 million.
The 18-year-old Schalke starlet has also attracted interest from Everton, Southampton, Red Bull Leipzig and Borussia Monchengladbach.
