Manchester City agree to sign Edin Dzeko
Manchester City have reportedly agreed to sign Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko for a fee of £27 million.
The Citizens had their offer for the hitman accepted over the weekend and all that’s left is for them to trash out personal terms with the Bosnian striker.
Dzeko will be offered a five-year contract worth around ₤5 million per season and City expect to close the deal within next few days.
As it now appears, City have won the race with Juventus for one of the most sought-after players in Europe, with Dzeko set to add much needed aerial presence to City’s attack in addition to his predatory skills.
The Bosnian’s arrival should speed up the departures of Emmanuel Adebayor and Roque Santa Cruz, who have been deemed surplus to requirements at Eastlands.

Sampdoria set to loan Manchester United hitman
Smapdoria have agreed to loan Manchester United striker Federico Macheda, according to reports from Italy.
Sir Alex Ferguson yesterday admitted an Italian club had made a move to sign the youngster on loan and it has now been revealed Sampdoria are the club in question.
“He has to play. If a club comes and convinces the player and me that he is going to play then they will be the ones we’re thinking about,” Sir Alex Ferguson said.
“He’s thinking himself about Italy but I would hope it would be the Premier League. He would go into the Italian league quite easily.
“So far only one club has phoned, but I’m sure there will be more in the next few days.”
The Serie A side are looking to reinforce their attack after Antonio Cassano moved to Milan and they believe Macheda would form a good partnership with Giampaolo Pazzini.
Despite bursting onto the Premier League scene last season, Macheda has only started two Premiership games this term and Sir Alex Ferguson is prepared to farm him out on loan so that he could gain some much needed experience.
For the time being, Sampdoria look like a good choice as they would be able to offer the youngster a regular place in the team.

Spurs look to cash in on fringe trio
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is hoping to cash in on Robbie Keane, David Bentley and Niko Kranjcar, as he is only interested in doing permanent deals for the fringe players.
A number of Premiership clubs wants to take Keane and Bentley on loan until the end of the season, but Redknapp only wants to sell.
“Bentley did well at the end of last season. But he obviously wants to go. He’s not happy because he’s not playing and I understand that.
“Robbie is the same. He’s too good not to play. But if we want to let people go we need to sell them.”
Niko Kranjcar is also available for sale, provided someone offers ₤9 million, while Spurs want £5 million for Keane and just short of £15 million for Bentley.
