Real Madrid are hoping to sell Fabio Coentrao in this January transfer window, with Manchester City and Chelsea both being keen, that’s according to Talk Sport.
Coentrao arrived at the Bernabeu from Benfica back in 2011 for around £27 million and it is thought that the La Liga champions fought of interest from these two English Premier clubs to sign him, so are now hoping they are both still interested.
The 24-year-old has made just six league appearances this campaign and hasn’t really been able to shake of his price tag.
There has also been reports that he turned up late for training on New Years Day, something that is has not gone down well with Jose Mourinho at all.
Chelsea might be the more likely buyers for the Portuguese as their current number one choice left-back, Ashley Cole, runs out of contract with the club in January.
Cole could be on the move from Stamford Bridge and Rafael Benitez might look to bring in some cover for him.
Manchester City are always linked with big name players in a transfer window, but with Gael Clichy and Aleksandar Kolarov on their books already, they might not be looking for a left-back.
