Manchester City appeal European ban

Sky Sports News is reporting that Manchester City have formally appealed against their two-season ban from European competitions. The Champions of England were handed the ban just under two weeks ago, and in addition to the suspension, they were also forced to pay a fine of around £24.9 million.

The ban was put in place due to serious breaches of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play and club licensing regulations, and in the wake of the news, many pundits and fans began speculating as to whether or not this could lead to a complete and utter collapse of their squad.

While manager Pep Guardiola assured the masses that he would remain in charge at the Etihad unless he was given the sack, there are multiple world-class players within their ranks that have already been heavily linked with moves away from Manchester.

Either way, though, it doesn’t seem as if this issue is going to be resolved anytime soon.
