Manchester City back in for Bonucci

Manchester City are ready to renew their interest in Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci, according to the Express.

The Premier League leaders were linked with a move for the Italy international during the summer and could make a move when the transfer window with captain and fellow centre-back Vincent Kompany suffering yet another injury in the midweek League Cup third round victory over Swansea City.

It was the Belgium international’s first appearance of the season though he hobbled off in stoppage time, straight down the tunnel showing clear frustration as he struggles to return to full fitness.

Bonucci has been with Juventus for six seasons and has helped them win five consecutive Serie A titles in succession during that time while he also played in the 2015 Champions League final defeat to Barcelona.

He has been capped sixty-three times for his country and was part of their squads for the last four major tournaments.
