Manchester City are closing in on the signing of Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker, according to the Daily Star.
The Citizens have been strongly linked with the full-back since the season ended last month and are on the verge of completing a deal with the transfer fee in the region of £40m.
Walker has been at White Hart Lane since signing from Sheffield United in the summer of 2009 and since returning from a loan spell back with them in 2010 has racked up two hundred and twenty-eight appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals.
Despite losing his starting place to Kieran Trippier towards the end of the recently closed campaign, the twenty-seven year old England international was named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year for a second time having already got the nod in 2012 when he was also named Young Player of the Year.
