According to a recent report from the Mirror, Manchester City could be gearing up to make a move for Bayern Munich defender David Alaba during the summer transfer window.
City recently sold Leroy Sane to the German champions in a deal that, by all accounts, had been a long time coming. It has been reported in the last few days that they were eager to try and bring Kingsley Coman over to the Etihad in return for Sane, but they couldn’t quite get that deal over the finish line.
The hope appears to be that they can interest Alaba in a move away from Munich, but you’d have to imagine their current European ban could serve as a road block in those plans.
The two-year ban is set to ensure that City will not be allowed to play in either the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League, which is always going to be a problem when trying to sign world class players.
